Foursquare 2007, 13 years, Barbados edition No. 1
Foursquare distillery from Barbados is one of the world’s most respected and sought-after rum producers. So we had to offer several of its rums. Starting with a 13-year-old rum that matured firstly an ex-Bourbon cask and later, for almost two years, in Ex-English Malt Whisky cask. It’s a blend of both: pot and column still distillates, which is typical for Foursquare. This rum spent 11 long years ageing in Barbados’s hot climate. Bottles came in ultramarine blue packaging with a strength of 61,6%.

Tasting Notes:
“Colour: deep gold. Nose: rather very hot [..] So on vanilla, soft dried fruits, raisins, plum jam. [..] Honey, orange blossom water, earl grey, mead, raisins. Some awesome grassy notes in the background, rather around eucalyptus. A wee metallic touch as well, which always works in my book. Oh and hay, farmyard… Mouth (neat): too rounded and sweet, too easy, too dangerous. Quick… With water: there, we tamed it. [..] Finish: same. Mandarins and liqueurs once again. Comments: another excellent and rather easy one. ”
